A cosmic, cinematic fantasy for two flutes and piano! unapologetically science fiction in theme and content - this piece starts with a Deep Space vibe - a lone beacon signals it’s presence. The Morse code - spelling: G-E-N-E-S-I-S repeatedly and more and more fervently until light bursts onto the scene!

We’re flooded in a festival of flowing, exuberant Lydian Mode transitions - finishing the first section as we begun - with a more thoughtful, rendition of the G-E-N-E-S-I-S code.

Then things get cool. Inspired by the phonetic and rhythmic representation of the three syllable word “Protocol” - in a Space 1999/Star Trek inspired feel - we explode into a fast paced duel with a strong groove. We depart in a mini cadenza full of strange pops and whistles - before winding up again to a fast-tracked race to the end - which finishes with a BLAM explosion like the Death Star at the end of A New Hope!!
