Seconds on State Street is a rhythmic, cool, slightly bluesy yet ultimately exuberant and joyful piece Commissioned by the Chicago Flute Club and very much inspired by the amazing, dynmaic, thrilling city of Chicago!

Original rhythmic inspiration for the piece comes from the Morse Code spelling out of C-H-I-C-A-G-O - both forwards in the opening section - and then backwards in the quicker second half.

The parts are lightly graded - with flute 1 & 2 being more challnging than Flute 3 & 4 which are broadly more manageable.
