Gareth McLearnon left his native Belfast, N.Ireland in 1999 to attend the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. In his second year there, he was invited to record with the World famous flautist Sir James Galway for the CD Songs for Alexander .
On graduation, Gareth won prestigious awards from the MBF (Ian Fleming Award) and the Countess of Munster. Following a year of postgraduate study, Gareth was awarded principal flute position in Southbank Sinfonia. He has been principal flute of The Heritage Orchestra since 2009 and plays regularly in London’s West End.
Gareth is an International Artist Ambassador for the Concordia Foundation, playing concerts and giving masterclasses in the UK, Italy, Kenya and China.
Gareth is a Pearl Flutes International Artist, playing on one of their finest 14K Gold instruments.
