avant-garde techniques and improvisation
having studied with one of the masters of avant garde techniques, Ian Clarke, I am happy to give instruction and help on contemporary works - have a listen to my recording of Zoom Tube on my myspace.com page to hear my work on extended techniques.
an exersize for you imagination - improvisation can give you ideas, characters, moods, and tone colours for use in your own repertoire study, as well as being a pure art form in itself.
Ideally I like to see my students once every two to four weeks, although I do occassionally give one-off individual lessons, especially following one of my flute clinics, where the student would like a more in depth and personally tailored session.
I can also provide a series of lessons building up to an important concert or examination.
In general, I'm very flexible and can teach in my flute studio in South London, or if you live elsewhere around the country, I can teach one-off lessons at your home (for a slightly increased rate - see below)
fees
my hourly rate for my flute studio in Purley Oaks is £40
my rate for coming to your home is the same, but a mutually pre-agreed travel allowance is added
flexible payment terms are possible - please contact me for more details
