Gareth has a new logo!
It is based on the Disney character "Fifer Pig" from the 1933 Animated Film - Three Little Pigs.
It all started from a play on words Gareth thought of relating to the Swine Flu epidemic - he thought "Swine Flute" was funnier - then grew attached to the idea, and then decided he'd make a logo out of it...!
He's even bought a figurine of the litte pig!
Gareth has recently taken delivery of a beautiful new E flay key for his flute!
This key was decorated by Pearl Flutes in Japan, and features 24 (just over half a Carat) of sparkling little diamonds!
And before you ask - no, it doesn't make it sound any different - it just makes it look nice!
Gareth was featured at Flutewise LIVE! at the Barbican Centre on May 3rd 2009.
He performed several solos including a 30 minute concert featuring music from his book and CD, and also had the privilege of conducting both the Professional Flute Choir and the massed flute choir of approximately 600 people!
See the Flutewise LIVE! website for full details!
Gareth has had the pleasure of depping in the smash hit West End show Oliver! at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane from time-to-time.
In this show he plays flute, piccolo and whistle in E flat (although it's played like a recorder with no folk "twiddley" bits.
For a list of dates when Gareth will be in the pit - check his schedule page.
Gareth recently found an old picture from nearly fifteen years ago of him and Sir James Galway playing contrabass flutes in the 39th Old Boys Flute Band!
