This piece was composed for the 2023 Australian Flute Festival Flute Orchestra and had its premiere on October 2nd 2023 in the Sydney Conservatorium conducted by Jessica Manning. I used the notes A-F-F as inspiration for this minute long fanfare.

It’s perfect for the opening of a Flute Festival Flute Choir Concert - I wanted it to be joyful, optimistic, grand, festive and is also graded for difficulty so everyone can feel stretched - but no-one feels overwhelmed.

I directed the Australian Flute Festival Flute Orchestra in 2015, 2017 and 2019 - premiering a piece each time (Lamasery Jigsaw, Cosmic Dawn & Edge Effect) so I couldn’t let a festival go by without writing something to be given it’s first performance at this wonderful event!
